Question: I want to add an addition to my three year old home. How well will I be able to match the existing colors with the new material for the addition?
Answer: Usually the colors of siding, roofing and windows are close but they are never perfect. If you don’t get the same blend number of the shingles they will be a slightly different color. The interior flooring colors are also difficult to match. It might be wise for you to do a little research and see if you will be satisfied with the color variation, because contractors can only work with what products are available. We work hard to find ways to make the transition from old to new materials less noticeable. We have done many additions and the color variation has never made one of our clients decide not to proceed with the project. Each individual must decide what is acceptable for their project.
