Question: I would like to move my washer and dryer upstairs to the first floor. What are some things I should consider?
Answer: You need to determine how involved you want this project to become. Some people just want the smallest area possible so they don’t have to walk up and down stairs. If this is what you like it could be possible to just find a small area and add a stack washer/dryer unit in a closet. Other people want a dedicated work area where they can have lots of light and adequate room to fold and iron clothes and hang partially dry items. Some people want to change an existing bedroom and combine the laundry room with a craft room where they can paint and create. They add windows and specified storage and work areas for their hobbies and crafts. Some make special storage areas to visibly display their different fabrics and craft materials. This becomes the room they enjoy as they relax and treat themselves to some well-deserved leisure time. While you’re thinking about it take the time to discover what all the various options look like. Then thoughtfully determine which option is best for your situation and get started.
