Question: I want to move the location of my toilet and would like to know if this is something I can do myself?
Answer: This is a project that the average homeowner should not attempt. There are codes for the drains and the vent stacks which are critical to meet in order for your toilet to function properly. The drain stack must be within a certain distance from the toilet location and the drain itself must have a certain fall per foot. If these limits are not met the water and waste will not flow properly. If the floor is concrete it is very difficult to access the drain and if it’s wood framing you may need to cut through floor joists. If you are a natural at remodeling maybe you can tackle this project, but at least check with a professional for advice and code requirements.
