Question: I don’t know whether to remodel or move. Could you share some good reasons to move?
Answer: One good reason to move is when the new house has the features you want and will cost less than remodeling your existing home. In addition, the new home should provide higher efficiency mechanicals and lower maintenance finishes. Another reason to move is if your home is too big. Why heat and maintain more home than you need? Some people may want to move to a one floor home that is easier to maintain and maneuver. Your existing home may just not be the style you like. Maybe it’s time to move to a better location, a nicer neighborhood, closer to schools, work and family. Some existing homes are just not built very well so it’s better to move on and invest in a home that could appreciate in value. These are just some common sense answers. A remodeler can help you with determining what possibilities exist with your existing home, the quality of the structure and the costs to make it what you would feel comfortable with. Take your time and look at all your options. The time spent will be well worth it, and armed with this information you should be informed and able to make the best decision. Good luck and may you have the home of your dreams.
